Give your cybersecurity some love
Its valentines day and whether you love or hate it, there’s always a few broken hearts. But don’t let your cybersecurity be one of them.
Here are 3 simple tips to show your cybersecurity how you really feel this valentines day.
- Remember your password anniversary. Password advice has evolved over the last few years. No longer are you advised that passwords have to be changed constantly (although you may still mandate this for critical accounts), instead longer, better passwords are advised. Even so, how do you keep passwords from becoming too old or insecure over time? One trick is a password anniversary. Check your passwords over on an annual basis and make sure they still pass muster and change any accounts you may have weaker or repeated passwords for or change your password out for new ones, especially on more sensitive accounts.
- Treat your cybersecurity to a gift. We all know buying gifts can be costly, so if you’re looking for something cost-effective consider something like applying some 2FA to your critical accounts, or signup to a password manager. Both are great low-cost treats for your cybersecurity.
- Communication is vital. Like in any relationship keeping making sure you are communicating well and ensuring you stay up to date is key to a long-lasting relationship. Install updates regularly and keep in regular contact with suppliers to ensure they are looking after your security needs.
